fridge delivery Originally uploaded by

These ‘white’ goods are not by default installed in the rental apartment in japan. Two guys came to deliver. First guy was all embarrassed that i was a foreigner, so he turned to the second guy who then asked me: ‘fridge positiong?’ the first guy is all very impressed.
These guys were very efficient and self-sufficient: they made a door-stopper w the card board, unwrapped the product in the corriddor, brought the thing in, removed all the stickers and stuff and left with all the trash. The attention to details is quite amazing for those who work in specialized areas.

Something i did not notice last time i was in shinjuku. Inside, all walls are covered with photos of women. No idea how it works.

milk early on Originally uploaded by
jabberer.
hotel breakfast restaurants usually ask if i want coffee or tea when i get seated. As i like to drink tea/coffee hot, this is less than desirable since by the time i get into mood of drinking it, the drink becomes too cold. Any idea to improve this problematic exp- while taking into account that this is also a symbolic ritual that indicates the serving starts and the table is occupied (plus amount of labor required).
For the time being, i was reminded of newton’s episode in developing the law of thermal physics- its better to lower the temperature early on than later.
