So we went to talk to jimmy, surrounded by several girls in their school uniforms. As we were approaching, one of the girls actually approached us first. Super friendly, first thing we got was several printouts of listing jimmy’s internet traces including his weblog. They offered us candies (from a huge bag that looked used for many years), and showed us several hand-made photo albums and scrap books. All photos had jimmy himself in them, along with some celebrities who passed central road in shibuya. He has been doing this for 12 years. I couldnt resist but asking the girl who acted like his assistant: ‘are you his friend?’ the girl’s answer, who was last year in her high school, was rather suprising: ‘when i had no one to talk to, jimmy was there. Now i am helping him.’

We were on our way to a big bookstore to get foreign magazines. My colleague told me there’s a guy always on the same spot on sen-ta-ga-ya (central road), talking to many girls, giving candies. I encouraged that we go talk to them immediately.

I’d personally consider the process of wearing makeup a very private task.. Perhaps being amongst strangers makes the public space private.

he was asking my german friend if he spoke french so we pointed at
marc saying he’s the one. the gentleman started to talk in french
excitedly and insisted on giving the business cards twice :-) first
time to see a japanese politician in flesh, and the impression was not
so rigid (obviously).
