so my university in korea is in a city called daejon, in the midst of
korean government’s research institutes and scientific laboratories.
accelerated with the recent discussion of making this city as the
political capital of korea, the city went through lots of changes in
the past decade.
the taxi driver explained to me that people were arrested when they
were discovered/heard publicly talking about the construction of our
university buildings or the airport at the end of 70’s, when korea was
under the regime of military-style president or dictator (ok,
debatable word for some). believe or not. the motto of our university
made by the president was indeed: “producing top quality scientists
and engineers without relying on other countries.”

not sure if it’s still girls’ dorm (it was enough to have just one
building for that at the time), but the road looked exactly same when
i was here 13 years ago!

a shortcut to the small library.
i spent 4 years in this small universe.
the day was too hot to walk all the way to the main entrance - hence
no good photos..
