Having a yellow light for the pedestrian crossings- suprisingly, helps getting ready for the walk. This particular system works: for red>green, yellow light only shows for a second. For green>red, for a while. Disadvantage is that you cant be sure how long the green-side yellow light would last.

One dedicated to go up, the other down. No doors. You need to be well prepared to jump in/out of them at the right moment. Good part: elimination of the heart-beating moment of the door opening. Bad part: if there’re many passengers, you may miss your chance to hop out.
