yukata - summer clothes

there’ll be many hanabi (fireworks) events in japan in the summer.
many people watch hanabi wearing yukata (casual/simpler traditional
clothes than kimono). big clothing shops all feature their own special
yukata section. i happen to watch the whole sequence of wearing yukata
in this shop. its understandable why this is difficult to wear alone.
and wonder how come it never evolved past this impractical level (like
chinese language being difficult with certain purpose).
this is very helpful for my reasearch project
