at a lunch restaurant near office (its nickname is ‘healthy
restaurant’ among my colleagues), i found an original moomin picture
book in swedish! it felt quite strange to see untainted,
pre-japanimation era moomin illustrations in the land where these
hippo creatures were reborn to look overly cuter than they should. how
did this book end up here? (i didn’t look in particular, but i haven’t
seen this in finland either)
This book is most definitely a part of the Finnish heritage. I recall reading it the first time when I was about five or so… But it’s not something you put on a coffee table when you’re older ;-)
