refuge camp first night

Well, experienced enough to bring: blanket, sleeping back, and pillow(!). But also - wine glass, wine opener, knife (actually a mistake in packing, but cant just get whatever for these anyway). Muji helped a lot as a starter today. Tokyu hands is great, but a little out of control of quality/design, i think. Tomorrow a brief visit to yodobashi camera after seeing the gas and fridge installed.

Strap hole included. It’s quite common to find these forms of notebooks- used typically as ‘(english) word’ memory book so that people can use mini idle time to improve their vocab. Got one extra for chris ;-)

The shop in the triangular building was a restaurant that opens late. Saw the owner (an old lady) dozing off in front of tv in the shop the other day. One of the views from apartment. My goal in language learning is set: socialize with her.

As i was returning back to my apartment building w toilet paper and stuff, someone was at the door. Didnt realize it later, but he was THE salesman. Home delivery of regular food items. He was persistent and good enough to speak slowly to me (but only in japanese) explaining about the service. Funny enough, with the combinations of visual and printed texts, i could almost understand the zist of what he was saying. Beauty of universal (image) and body language. The delivery cost is only a little more than 1 euro.

I have rather a big obsession about kitchen cleaning products. But need to hold my horses till i know the local climate.. And thank god, if i were not responsible for my classmates’ one-chinese-character-a-day tests when i was in junior high (like, 20 years ago), very few of them would have survived in my memory.
