how to crack up a coconut

anyone experienced laptops turning themselves off cuz of overheating? Not sure if it’s ibm- happens when i use them in bed laid on top of blankets, but never happened in the lukewarm sauna (~50c). Also not sure if i should blame my bad habit or manufacturers for not making better products durable to my kind of usage environment. Well i shouldnt experiment about this without a corporate support, for sure.
