how to crack up a coconut

An impulse purchase of a whole coconut. The problem of opening it up came immediately (tools available in the house for this purpose are not better than in the deserted island in movie ‘cast away’- or even worse, cuz of no rocks.)
solved the problem by: 1) punch the 3 relatively ’soft’ holes with screw driver (found a good tip in the internet), 2) hammer the darn thing till some parts crack up.
Your hammer looks very suspicious… I mean, a piece of string to hold it together (o_o)? Very desert island indeed…
