vappu
2004.05.01 - 04:05thanks to the amazingly buggy and crap software provided by this paid service, my two-day moblogging life ended very shortly. sorry for lack of efforts in creating new posts via the web nevertheless.
today’s the day before may day which is called ‘vappu’ in finnish. my 3 previous vappu eves were spent wandering around the city center touring on people liberally getting drunk in public places (there’s no more effective way to create a sense of community than getting drunk together in finland in my opinion). this year i decided to stay in like other experienced residents in helsinki.
this is a photo from last year. for some reason people wear white hats from their high school graduation ceremony. whether vappu is celebration of coming spring or honor of labor, surely it creates the biggest festive atmosphere.
